
Statment of aims
I will use media language in my cross-media production by researching all about the topic of my magazine which is vintage fashion, I chose vintage fashion because I also have a lot of knowledge on it already. I then textually analysed and compared 5 other magazines and types of magazine genres, such as fast fashion magazines, vogue magazines, and fashion inspiration magazines. I did this because it is especially important to have the background understanding of your topic as you will being putting a lot of work into it.
I will construct representations of individuals, groups, and issues/events in my magazine by advertising vintage shops and clothing items that go against fast fashion to help save our planet. I will also do this Because it will reinforce certain stereotypical conventions for example demographics from Uk tribes state that 98% of tribes shop from fast fashion brands, but only half are aware that brands they purchase from are considered fast fashion, this is why it is extremely important to spread awareness to these problems.
I will target my intended audience by aiming to encourage age groups between 16-25 to buy from second hand shops, vintage shops, and charity shops, rather than fast fashion shopping sites, for example Shien, ali express, pretty little thing. To encourage them I have made fun and exciting magazine pages to really make some items of clothing pop, to show that brand new clothes are unnecessary when shops that sell used and wanted clothing that are just as good and even more stylish. The magazine is suitable for all types of classes as prices of shops I am advertising and brands you can find for really reasonable prices.
My production will conform to its industry context because a company that promotes vintage fashion is depop, it is an app where you sell your unwanted clothes to send off to a new home for your garms, it is environmentally friendly as you'll be buying your clothes off people who have already worn them there for you are not supporting fast fashion by directly buying from big brands.
My cross-media project production will demonstrate digital convergence by making a magazine by scratch on photo shop joined with a website that will in include a large variety of details on the background of vintage fashion that will educate people even further., it will also have social medias linked in, such as an Instagram page all about value vintage the magazine, this gives the target audience a range of platforms to read all about my magazine.
